Residential New Construction Program Solutions

Building Homes that Meet Modern Demands

Homebuyers’ lists of “must haves” continue to grow and evolve, with more buyers seeking homes with efficient features and systems that provide a return on investment in energy savings and resale value. Not only have we delivered award-winning new construction programs that meet ENERGY STAR® standards, but we have also transformed markets with an innovative approach to home building. Call on WECC to work with builders in your service territory to design and implement a new construction program that will deliver the energy savings you demand.

Innovative, Whole-house Approach

WECC utilizes a proven, performance-based, whole-house approach to energy efficient homebuilding. This means all components of the building and their relationship to each other are considered in order to achieve maximum energy savings. Additionally, the performance-based aspect of our program allows for greater flexibility in meeting efficiency requirements—providing builders with more options when choosing energy-saving products and techniques for their customers. Builders are thus able to remain competitive while utilizing practices they and their contractors are comfortable employing.

Key Partnerships

Because energy efficient new home construction requires the skills of numerous trades, WECC has established partnerships with the building community across the country. We provide education and training opportunities to builders and contractors, from program-specific procedures and requirements to technical training and certifications through our Building Science Training Center. Additionally, we leverage our existing network of RESNET® accredited energy raters—pairing them with builders to provide the right level of in-field support and quality assurance.

Proven Success

With 15 years of experience in energy efficient residential new construction, WECC has certified more than 20,000 new homes. We have been recognized for our expertise throughout the years, having received the ENERGY STAR for Homes Leadership in Housing Award  annually from 2008-2012, and the ENERGY STAR for Homes Outstanding Achievement Award for certifying more than 1,000 ENERGY STAR homes per year from 2002-2007.
