Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation Recognized For Comprehensive Marketing Campaign
Association of Energy Services Professionals honors WECC for its achievements

MADISON, Wis. (January 31, 2008) - Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation (WECC) is being recognized by the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) with an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communications."

Candidates for the Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communications Award were judged on how well they raised awareness of an energy services program or need. WECC won the award because of its ability to implement effective, innovative and economical marketing strategies in the face of several challenges, including aggressive goals, limited budgets and making familiar messages fresh again. To conquer these challenges, WECC developed comprehensive marketing campaigns consisting of radio, newspaper, public relations and point–of–purchase display materials–topped off by a number of exciting and innovative online marketing initiatives.

"We are honored to receive this award because it not only recognizes our programs, but it also acknowledges the difficult, yet important task of spreading awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy," said Janet Brandt, executive director for WECC. "WECC strives to ensure our customers are aware of all of their options when it comes to making choices about energy usage and the environment as they pertain to homes and businesses."

For the past 28 years WECC has strived to simultaneously educate consumers and businesses about the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency and encourage companies to promote and sell high efficiency products and services.

An awards ceremony for the 2008 AESP Awards Program was held on Wednesday, January 30 at the AESP's National Energy Services Conference Awards Luncheon in Clearwater Beach, FL.
