Acting Director, Strategic Product Management and Development
As Acting Director of Strategic Product Management and Development, Janet oversees WECC product development strategies for residential and business programs, focusing on innovation, technology adoption, and clean energy optimization. Janet joined WECC in 2011 to manage the implementation of WECC’s custom and prescriptive energy efficiency programs. As the guiding force behind these programs, Janet has been instrumental in achieving energy savings and carbon offset goals for both investor-owned and cooperative utility clients.
While Janet is a champion of all of WECC’s corporate values, she is most passionate about collaboration. “Collaboration is an integral part of developing trust and respect with one another,” she says. “Collaboration allows us to look at other perspectives, respect different opinions, and challenges us to explore ways to reach a common understanding.” Prior to joining WECC, Janet spent more than two decades building a successful career in product management and energy and water conservation. Most recently, she spent eight years with Kohler Company, where she managed the development of controls and software products for power system equipment.
Janet holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering, and an Environmental Pollution Engineering Certificate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Additionally, she earned an Associate of Applied Science in Water Quality Technology from Moraine Park Technical College. Janet has been an active member of the Water Environmental Federation, American Water Works Association, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
In her free time, Janet volunteers as a Wisconsin Master Gardener, educating the public about gardening and related environmental issues through community outreach activities.
